No Screen Display. Video Output not working?

a. Check all cable connections are secure and correctly assigned.
b. Press the TV System button on the remote to cycle through the settings until a normal screen is displayed. There are six output settings, 480i/ 576i/ 480P/ 576P/
720P/ 1080i. Some HDMI Displays only support 720P or above.
c. Check the TV-OUT settings and cable-type on the ViVo and ensure that it is consistent with the VIDEO-IN settings of the TV.

No Sound or bad sound?

a. Please make sure your audio output setting is correct.
b. Please check whether the unit is Mute mode.
c. Please check whether the volume is set to minimal level.

Remote control does not respond?
a. Please replace remote batteries.
b. Please check for interference from other IR sources by trying to operate the TViX with all other components turned off.

ViVo does not recognize your SATA HDD?
Please Check the SATA cable is already connection to the SATA Hard Disk Drive (HDD).

Time-shifting is not working in digital channel?
The first partition of the SATA internal hard disk must use the NTFS format. FAT32 format can cause an error message.

ViVo does not display the Network-shared Folder on your computer?

Check network connection between your computer and ViVo

During network playback, the display freezes or jumps?
Network High Definition playback may be problematic due to network speed irregularities. To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:
a. Copy the content using the Copy File menu to a USB drive.
b. Copy the content from the USB drive to the recorder internal HDD.
c. Playback the content from the internal HDD.

I cannot play .rmvb, H.264 format files?
ViVo can not play .rmvb, H.264 files from the internal HDD it only played over a network using the supplied ViVo Transmission Server software. See Adding Content to ViVo Transmission Server on page 19.

Network connection problem?
a. Check all cable connections are secure and correctly assigned.
b. Check the LAN/WLAN settings in the Setup menu are consistent with the local network. Refer to your router or wireless access point User Manual for more information.
c. If you use a firewall, for example Windows Firewall, ensure that the connection from the recorder to the network is not blocked.

I cannot copy files to my internal HDD?
FAT32 format HDDs cannot write single files larger than 4GB. Check the size of the file you are copying. NTFS format HDDs cannot be written to from the recorder. It is only read only.

I cannot record content from CD/DVDs?
Check if the source CD/DVD has copy protection. Some original CD/DVDs have copy write protection and cannot be copied. Try copying content from an alternate CD/DVD to ensure that the recorder is operating correctly.

ViVo cannot access the internal HDD?
a. Check all cable connections are secure and correctly assigned.
b. Ensure that the HDD was formatted before use. If it has not been formatted please see Format Hard disc on page 13.

ViVO does not display the Network-shared Folder on your PC.

1. Check network connection between your PC and Vivo.

2. Reboot the Vivo and re-establish the connection.

3. Depending on network environment, there may be a delay in searching for the network for up to about 3 minutes.

4. Ensure that WEP and ESSID settings are accurate.

How to use default settings?
1. Select to restore factory defaults.
2. A confirmation message appears. Select Confirm and press RETURN to restore all settings to defaults.

Using A/V-in (External input)?

Vivo T5 also functions as a personal video recorder or archiving machine, allowing you to capture analog video and store it in a digital format. It can capture or time-shift the external analog video as well as analog TV signal, and then record it in superb high-quality digital format.

Connect the output of the external device to the RCA cables included. Then connect this RCA cable to the Vivo A/V IN port.

Configure the external device’s A/V output to NTSC(480i)/PAL(576i) and analog sound.


1) After connecting A/V-in cable, turn on the power of the Vivo.

2) Press Guide button on your remote controller, and select Video IN.

3) When using the A/V-in mode, you can record or time shift, just as in TV mode.
